Li Auto L9 Pro: Six Months Later

Six Months On

When we first drove the Li Auto L9 Pro, we were impressed by its sheer size, the refrigerator in the second row, and the cabin that rivals a five-star hotel suite. Six months later, how does it hold up?

What We Love

The EREV powertrain is genius. Range anxiety is simply not a thing. The 1.5T range extender fires up so quietly and infrequently that most passengers don't notice it. We averaged 7.2L/100km on mixed driving — remarkable for a 2.9-tonne SUV. The third row is actually usable. Unlike most three-row SUVs, the L9's third row accommodates adults comfortably on trips up to an hour.

What Could Be Better

The touchscreen interface, while responsive, is the usual Chinese over-engineering: too many menus, too many taps to change the temperature.

OTA updates have been consistent — five in six months — but two caused temporary Bluetooth issues.

Long-Term Verdict

Rating: 9/10. The L9 Pro remains the benchmark for Chinese family SUVs. If you can stretch the budget, get one.
